Court of Protection general visitors play a vital role in supporting the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) by overseeing court-appointed deputies. Recently, the OPG announced the appointment of 30 new general visitors alongside 11 re-appointed general visitors. These public appointees are essential in performing mental capacity assessments, contributing significantly to investigative processes. The new appointments began in October 2025 and will extend for a period of 10 years.
