Civic Freedoms Nigeria are under significant threat following a recent ruling by a Nigerian high court. On May 5, the court mandated the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), a key local human rights organization, to compensate two officials from the Department of State Services with 100 million naira (approximately US$72,000). Additionally, SERAP was ordered to issue public apologies and cover litigation expenses.
