Venezuelan immigrants in the United States reflect a significant migration trend driven by the severe economic and political crisis under the authoritarian regime of President Nicolás Maduro. As of December 2024, approximately 7.9 million Venezuelan refugees and migrants are dispersed globally, with an impressive 85 percent, or 6.7 million, residing in Latin America and the Caribbean. The U.S. has become a notable destination for these migrants only in the past decade. By 2023, around 770,000 Venezuelan immigrants were living in the United States, representing nearly 2 percent of the total 47.8 million immigrants in the nation.
