Applications for the 2024–2025 Next Generation Security Leader Scholarship are Now Open

Applications for the next generation Security Leader Scholarship programme are being accepted. Selected students enrolled in particular programmes for the 2024–2025 academic year will be eligible for up to $7,500.

To inspire and assist the future generation of leaders at its partner universities—renowned for their top-notch security, risk, and intelligence programs—the SEC established the scholarship programme in 2022. A worthy student enrolled in one of the following academic programmes will receive each $2,500 Next Generation Security Leader Scholarship.

About The Next Generation Security Leader Scholarship

Kennesaw State College of Business, Coles College of A Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity from the Institute for Cybersecurity Workforce Development, or a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Information Security and Assurance.

The Bachelor of Science in Cyber Security, Bachelor of Arts in Intelligence Studies, Bachelor of Science in Data Science, or Bachelor of Arts in Business & Competitive Intelligence programmes at Mercyhurst University.

The institutions’ requirements and the SEC’s assessment of the potential for security leadership will be considered when the SEC Scholarship Committee decides which scholarships to give. The group comprises university professors, successful former security executives, SEC employees, and current security practitioners from reputable companies.

The SEC they started the scholarship programme early this year to assist and motivate the future generation of leaders at its partner universities, which are renowned for their top-notch security, risk, and intelligence programmes.

The SEC prize Committee, which consists of university teachers, accomplished former security executives, SEC personnel, and current security practitioners from reputable businesses, awards each $2,500 prize after careful assessment.

Dr. Michael Whitman, Executive Director of the Institute for Cybersecurity Workforce Development (ICWD), stated, “Kennesaw State University and the ICWD are grateful to the SEC for this financial support for one of our best and brightest students.”

“Joshua Atuahene has demonstrated his commitment to the discipline of Cybersecurity and is already on his way to establishing himself in his chosen career.”

According to Brian Fuller, Director of Operations at Ridge College of Intelligence Studies and Applied Science at Mercyhurst University, “I would like to thank the SEC on behalf of Mercyhurst University and Ridge College for providing this scholarship to a very deserving student, young man, and steward of the Intelligence Studies profession.” Josh has a bright future and will soar to success in intelligence and security.

Mercyhurst and the SEC are still excellent academic partners; we hope that connection will grow. Greg Niehaus, professor of insurance and finance at the University of South Carolina, agreed with Fuller’s assessment.
