About The Diane Siemer Scholarship
The Diane Siemer Scholarship Fund was created to support students who have attended Aspire and Tristar Academy, have a general equivalency degree (GED), completed a high school education programme through Pathways in Effingham County, or otherwise qualify for higher education scholarships.
Diane’s family founded the scholarship in recognition of her extensive career in teaching. Diane Siemer was employed by Lake Land College as a contract instructor for the GED programme in the beginning of the 1980s.
Diane gave the class her all as a teacher until she retired in 2007. She dealt with about 500 students who were pursuing their GEDs during her 25 years of teaching.
A number of scholarships of up to $2,500 are offered. The Diane Siemer Scholarship is a fund of the Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation.
Applicants wanting to attend Lake Land College will be awarded preferential financing. Previous recipients may apply for additional awards.
