Getting around Dubai is easy and inexpensive. The city has an excellent public transport system that includes buses, trains and trams. On top of this, there are taxis available everywhere, as well as Uber and Careem.

It’s also much cheaper than taxis, with a one-way trip costing only 2 dirhams. However, the train system only serves Dubai’s central business district (CBD) and doesn’t extend to many other parts of the city yet.

Taxis

Taxis are an easy way to get around Dubai. They’re cheap and plentiful, with most drivers speaking English. The flag-down rate for a taxi is 3 dirhams (USD 0.68) and then 1 dirham per kilometer traveled. Most taxis can be hailed on the street, but you can also book one via an app or by calling. You’ll need to give the driver your destination and your phone number so he can call when he arrives. Uber is another popular option for getting around Dubai.
