These details were released by the Government of Yukon on its official news page on January 12, 2026. Who is prioritized under the Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) for 2026? This year, the YNP will focus on candidates who fulfill critical labour market demands or those with strong ties to the territory. Specifically, regulated health care professionals will be prioritized, along with foreign nationals who meet at least one of the following criteria: - They have worked and resided in the Yukon for a minimum of one year. - Graduates of Yukon University. - Classified as French-speaking (Francophone). - Recipients of a Temporary Measure Letter of Support during 2024 or 2025. Moreover, the YNP aims to address labour shortages in rural regions, thus prioritizing employers located in rural Yukon. Notably, those who received a Temporary Measure Letter of Support in 2024 or 2025 are exempt from submitting an expression of interest (EOI); they will be contacted directly about the next steps in their application process. When do the Yukon nomination intake periods open? The YNP operates as an employer-driven program. This means employers submit an online EOI form that includes basic information regarding the foreign national they wish to sponsor. In 2026, there will be two intake periods for employers: - Intake Period 1: January 19 to January 30. - Intake Period 2: July 6 to July 17. Submissions from candidates who clearly meet the 2026 nomination priorities will earn points. Additionally, any employer who submitted an EOI in 2025 but was not invited to apply will also gain points. The highest-scoring employers during each intake period will be invited to submit their applications. How does the Yukon 2026 nomination allocation compare to previous years? At 282 nominations, the 2026 allocation matches the post-increase figure reached in August 2025. This was following a federal government boost to its initial quota of 215 nominations by adding 67 slots. Although this year’s initial allotment is higher, the total nomination allocation remains considerably lower than the 430 nominations allocated in 2024, reflecting a 34% decrease. According to the most recent Immigration Levels Plan announced in November 2025 , the federal government has increased its PNP-related permanent admissions target from 55,000 in 2025 to 91,500 in 2026. A higher PR target typically correlates to increased nominations for various provinces and territories. However, it is currently unclear whether Yukon will apply for additional nominations in 2026, similar to last year. Despite having 282 nominations last year, Yukon nominated 312 individuals for permanent residency in 2025.
