To be eligible for the scholarship, you must:
- Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person
- Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country

- Have an institutional or departmental link between your home university and your proposed UK university. Both supervisors must provide a supporting statement for this link
- Be available to start your academic studies in the UK in September 2023
- By September 2023, hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) honors standard or a lower second class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master’s degree)
- Be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship
The scholarship provides approved airfare to and from the UK, full tuition fee coverage, a living allowance of ÂŁ1,236 per month or ÂŁ1,516 per month for those in the London metropolitan area, a generous clothing allowance if necessary, a study travel grant, and child allowance if you are a single parent or divorced/widowed and accompanied by your children.
The selection process takes into account academic merit, the quality of the study plan, and the potential impact on the candidate’s home country. To apply, you must use the CSC’s online application system by March 2, 2023. Make sure to apply to a UK university with a part-funding agreement with the CSC, and check the list of universities on the CSC website.
