Planning Inspectorate Board Chair: New Appointment Announced

Planning Inspectorate Board Chair Ben Alexander has been officially appointed by Housing and Planning Minister Matthew Pennycook. His term will begin on 1 July 2026 and will last for four years. The Minister also announced a one-year extension for two current board members of the Inspectorate, Adrian Penfold and Oliver Munn, ensuring their roles continue until September 2027. Ben succeeds Trudi Elliott, CBE MRTPI, who is finishing her second term as Chair. In his new position, Ben will guide the Planning Inspectorate, which plays a crucial role in the planning system.
