Selection Procedure, Standards, and Conditions For PTDF Overseas Masters & PhD Scholarships
Scholarships from the PTDF are extremely competitive, and only the best applicants are chosen.
After submitting their qualifications, the best candidates in each state’s category will be contacted for interviews. A selection committee will then be assembled to review the applications based on the following standards:
- Academic merit demonstrated by the caliber of degrees obtained, complete academic transcripts, and other professional credentials obtained.
- Relevant publications that candidates (only those seeking PhDs) must cite participation in professional associations.
- The feasibility and pertinence of the research/study design.
- The pertinence of earlier research to the oil and gas sector and the suggested curriculum/research specifications
- a Second Class Lower (2.2) with appropriate industrial experience, or a minimum of a Second Class Upper (2.1) certification in their first degree
- Computer literacy is required.
- Five O-level credits, two of which are in mathematics and English language.
- A statement of purpose (no more than 500 words) outlining the goal(s) of the proposed study, its industrial significance, and its anticipated effects on national development.
- Before applying for the scholarship, candidates must have a National Identity Number (NIN) and must have had it validated (there are NIMC verification fees).
