Visa denial reforms are at the forefront of Reform UK's latest policy proposal, which states it would refuse new visas to citizens of countries pursuing slavery reparations from Britain if they were to form the next government. Reform stated that from now on, should any country officially seek reparations from the UK, a future government led by Reform would immediately cease issuing new visas to their nationals. The Caribbean Community (Caricom), which consists of 21 countries, has had a 10-point plan advocating for "reparatory justice" for over a decade. This includes requests for a full formal apology, the cancellation of foreign debts, and investments targeting literacy and public health challenges. A spokesperson for the Labour Party characterized Reform's policy as a "desperate gimmick," while the Conservatives opted not to comment.
