Nigeria repatriation South Africa is underway as the country prepares to bring home nationals currently in South Africa who wish to return voluntarily. This decision comes amidst rising concerns that recent assaults on foreign nationals could worsen. Foreign Minister Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu announced that 130 individuals have already applied for repatriation, with expectations for that number to increase. She emphasized President Bola Tinubu’s apprehension regarding the violence in South Africa, condemning the attacks against foreign nationals and the protests fueled by “xenophobic rhetoric, hate speeches, and incendiary anti-migrant statements.” In a diplomatic move, Nigeria has summoned the acting High Commissioner of South Africa concerning these issues.
