UK Australia AI Pact Tackles Urgent Security Risks

The UK Australia AI pact aims to enhance collaboration on AI security and safety, as ministers convene in Canberra today (Monday, 25 May). Both countries are committed to addressing potential threats posed by advanced AI technologies. With the establishment of a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the UK AI Security Institute and the Australian Safety Institute will collaborate to monitor key advancements in frontier AI. This initiative focuses on the dual aspects of how these technologies can be exploited in cyber-attacks and how they can fortify defense mechanisms.
