The North Pacific Research Board Photo Contest is an annual photo contest for both professional and amateur photographers.
The grants are set aside for those who best portray the Gulf of Alaska’s waters, coastal scenes, sea life, marine research within the United States, Arctic Ocean, and the Bering scenes. From tiny plankton to some of the earth’s largest creatures, The North Pacific Research Board has seen it all with the annual photo contest. These images aim to help portray and tell stories of research, understanding, and stories about life along with coastal Alaska.

- Eligible Countries/ Region: United States
- Gender Restrictions: No gender Restrictions
- Age Restrictions: Youth under 18, Adult must be older than 18
General Eligibility Requirements
- The contest is open to photographers of all skills levels and residents of united states
- An exception to members, employees, their families, members of the science and advisory panel of The North Pacific Research Board
- Non-citizens of the united states are welcomed to participate in the contest but will not be eligible for a cash prize
- Applicants can apply regardless of professional or amateur
- Applicants must meet age requirements

The North Pacific Research Board award comes in two sections the youth and adult prizes
Youth ranking prizes
- 3rd prize: $200
- 2nd prize: $400
- 1st prize: $600
Adult ranking prizes
- 3rd prize: $300
- 2nd prize: $600
- 1st prize: $1200
North Pacific Research Board Photo Contest Application Instructions
Applicants must ensure that submitted to the contest must portray seascapes, coastal scenes, sea life, the Gulf of Alaska’s waters, coastal scenes, sea life, the marine research within the United States, and the Arctic Ocean the Bering scenes. From tiny plankton to some of earth largest creatures
Note: images of about five in quantity may be submitted for the contest per applicant.
