About the Festival
The Generation Equality Film Festival will take place during Generation Equality Forum of UN’s Women, co-hosted by the governments of France and Mexico, in partnership with other civil societies.
The Forum, which is a global gathering for gender equality, will kickstart on March 29th to 31st, 2021 in Mexico City, and rounded up in June 2021, at Paris.
The goal is to secure a set of transformative devotion for gender equality.
Eligibility:
- Straight to-point: films for submission should not go beyond 3mins in duration, including credits.
- Originality: Submit only original clips that have not been documented at other festivals.
- Under 30yrs of Age: submission is exclusive to professional and non-professional filmmakers and storytellers of both genders, aged 18 to 30.
- Action-oriented: Submitted clips must capture action scenes about changing realities, and notions, for gender equality in our generation.
- Creativity and diversity: different genres of films are acceptable. Applicants must select a category among the following:
i. Feminist movements and Leadership;
ii. Economic Justice and Rights; or
iii. Women, Peace, Security and Humanitarian Action.
Other Requirements
- Films produced in non-English dialogues must include English subtitles, including titles & graphics
- Rough cuts are not accepted
- Video clips submitted must be an original final copy, edited, sound-mixed, color-graded and suitable for online streaming.
Benefits
The winner in each category is liable for a cash prize of $1000 US.
